Accessibility Statement

At the Michigan Climate Investment Hub, we believe that accessibility is fundamental to equity, climate justice, and meaningful public participation. Our work centers on ensuring that every community member can access information, engage with our programs, and participate in shaping Michigan’s climate future. Creating an inclusive digital environment is an essential part of that mission. As technologies, standards, and user needs change, we continue to adapt our site to ensure it remains usable for everyone.

To support this commitment:

  • We regularly review and update the site to maintain compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines and to identify new opportunities for improvement.

  • We ensure that all new content is created with accessibility in mind, including structure, readability, compatibility with assistive technologies, and inclusive design practices.

  • We conduct periodic accessibility evaluations, using both automated tools and manual testing, to ensure that our site remains accessible as it grows.

As part of this effort, we have also:

  • Set the language of the site

  • Set the content order of the site’s pages

  • Defined clear heading structures on all the site’s pages

  • Added alternative text to images

  • Implemented color combinations that meet the required color contrast

  • Reduced the use of motion on the site

  • Ensured all videos, audio, and files on the site are accessible

  • This site's contents have been adapted to work with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard use.

What web accessibility is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.
